Macaroni Craft: Reindeer Candy Cane Cards

🎄 Cool Craft for Christmas

By Heather Bauer December 15, 2015

Have some fun with your kids this week and make reindeer candy cane cards for your friends, classmates, and neighbors. They are pretty easy and super adorable!

What You Need:

  • Candy Canes (the thinner the better — easier to fit through the slits in the card)
  • Googly eyes (I used the 7mm size)
  • Brown Pipe Cleaners (cut in half)
  • Red Poms (for the noses!)
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue
  • Picture of your kid holding out his or her hand as if holding something

What You Do:

1. Take a picture of your child holding his or her hand out as if holding something. I found it looks best with the face in focus, and not necessarily their hand.

2. Add text to your photo if desired. PicMonkey is a great place to edit your images if you don’t have image editing software on your computer.

3. Get your photos printed!

4. Make the reindeer. Here's a tutorial if you're not sure how.

5. Make two small cuts along the top and bottom of your child's fist in the photo. These will need to be long enough to accommodate the circumference of your candy canes (hence the tip for THIN candy canes!). Then slide the candy cane through one slit and out the other! Done!
