Brie cheese is one of my favorite cheeses. The best way to enjoy brie is, of course, with buttery puff pastry!

This is a quick and easy appetizer that you can change up with lots of different ingredient options. I have added a list of suggestions for you to try — and believe me when I say, I have tried them all!

This will surely impress and please your guests over the holiday season, or anytime! Enjoy!

Best Baked Brie:

  • Wheel of Brie
  • Puff Pasty Sheet (found in the freezer section near the pie crusts)
  • Toppings, such as nuts, jams, sauces (we've provided some ideas below)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Water crackers, toasted baguette slices, apple and pear slices

Preheat oven to 350˚F.

Thaw your puff pastry sheet according to the package directions. Unfold and cut off about an inch of the puff pastry to make a square. Reserve extra pastry for decorating.

Place your toppings (no more than 4 tablespoons) in the center of the pastry. Some of our favorite toppings are:

  • Chopped pecans and raspberry jam
  • Apricot preserves and chopped walnuts
  • Caramelized onions and fresh thyme or sauteed mushrooms and thyme
  • Cherries, pecans, and rosemary
  • Whole cranberry sauce and pecans (great for Thanksgiving)
  • Mango chutney
  • Olive tapenade

Center the brie on the toppings and bring the corners of puff pastry up and over the cheese, folding and pressing seams together. Flip over onto a baking sheet.

Make a bow, leaves, or other decoration out of the leftover pastry and place on top. Lightly brush the pastry with egg wash. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Serve warm with fruit slices, crackers, and bread! Just try to have only one bite — I bet you can't!

You can also bake the brie with out the pastry! Just throw your wheel with rind and all on a cookie sheet and bake at 350˚F for 10-12 minutes. Drizzle with honey and almond slices and serve with good crusty toasted rustic bread! YUM!

Can you tell I really love brie?
