Macaroni Recipe: Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread

By Kyrie Collins, Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock Publisher December 5, 2012
My friend, Vince, brought this dish to a potluck party and it disappeared within minutes of removing it from the oven! I guarantee your family will love it ... if it lasts that long! Vince stressed to me that the measurements are guess-timates and that he does everything by sight. If it looks like it needs more butter, cinnamon, or anything else, just add it!

Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread
  • 1 unsliced round loaf sourdough bread
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 + 1/4 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tablespoons milk
Preheat oven to 350รขโ€žโ€ฐ. Whip butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar together until smooth. Stir in honey and 1 teaspoon vanilla; set aside. Cut the bread lengthwise into 1/2-inch slices without cutting through the bottom crust. Spread vanilla honey butter in between the slices. Rotate the bread 90° and slice the bread again into 1/2-inch slices without cutting through the bottom crust. Spread more vanilla honey butter in between new cuts. Stir together sugar and cinnamon; generously sprinkle in between all cuts. Place bread on a baking sheet and bake 25-30 minutes, until bread is warm. Meanwhile, combine remaining 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and milk (add milk a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency). Drizzle icing over bread when it is finished baking and serve immediately.
