Craft Corner: Mini Christmas Tree

🎄 Cool Craft for Christmas

By Amy Tulk December 19, 2012

I promise you, this craft is so quick, easy and inexpensive to make. It plugs in and lights up - this is a major bonus to any kid! They will be so proud of this craft, and you will be proud to display it!

What You Need:

  • 4 wire hangers
  • Tape
  • A set of mini Christmas lights (50 works great)
  • Christmas garland in any color(s) you choose

What You Do:

1. Take two of your wire coat hangers and tape them together so the "hooks" end up on the inside like this:

2. Tape the other two hangers to the first ones, creating a tree shape. It should look like this:

3. Here is the fun part! Tape a set of mini lights all over your tree frame. Try to keep them even. Just wrap around the frame, taping in a few spots to hold the lights in place. Make sure you leave a long enough cord to reach the plug that you will be using.

4. When you have your lights where you would like them, you are ready to wrap the Christmas garland. My Macaroni Kid chose two colors, so our tree is silver and green, but you can use any colors you want... they all look great!

5. That's it! You are ready to plug in and enjoy your homemade Christmas tree! You can leave the tree as is, or decorate the tree with stringed popcorn, construction paper links, small paper snowflakes, or anything your Macaroni Kid can dream up! or leave it as it is.
