Take your kids on a hike to look at the trees in their fall glory for a little pre-crafting inspiration. They can even pick up a few fallen leaves to use as a template for this project that will recreate the beauty of fall for your indoor decorations!
What You Need:
- Paper Towels
- Scissors
- White glue
- Wax coated paper plate or plastic plate
- Washable markers
- Spray bottle filled with water
What You Do:
- Cut a leaf shape from a paper towel sheet. Use a template (or an actual leaf!) to trace the shape onto the towel or just cut it free-hand.
- Place the paper towel leaf on the plate. Use the white glue to create the vein lines in your leaf. Allow to dry overnight.
- Use the washable markers to make patches of color on the leaf. Leave some white area around the coloring.
- Spray the colored leaf with the water... ooh! and aah! as the colors "melt" into one another.
- Allow to dry overnight.
- Remove from plate and use to decorate for fall!
