Celebrate a new era in community care with Children’s Hospital Colorado in Highlands Ranch, scheduled to open December 19, 2013.
The new South Campus is located at the corner of Plaza Drive and Lucent Boulevard, south of C-470. Join Children’s Colorado on Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a community Open House and Sneak Peek. Come tour your new hospital before it opens.
There will be all kinds of fun for families, including a life-size snow globe and displays from local partners. Families can also take a peek at select portions of the new pediatric hospital with staff-led tours.
Children’s Hospital Colorado’s South Campus in Highlands Ranch will provide comprehensive service to the families of Highlands Ranch and the South Denver Metro Area. The new location will offer a wide range of expert pediatric care, including urgent care, outpatient specialty clinics, inpatient and surgery care, along with imaging and diagnostic services.
The South Campus will offer the only 24/7 pediatric urgent care in the area. All urgent care staff will be trained in pediatric emergency medicine. These services begin December 19.
There will be play areas, short-term sibling care, a family hospitality area, a cafeteria/coffee shop, and a Ronald McDonald Family Room. The beautifully landscaped South Campus also will offer a healing garden and a family respite room.
The Scope of Care at South Campus includes:
- 24/7 urgent care — 22 exam rooms
- Inpatient care — 12 rooms for children requiring acute care services
- Overnight sleep studies — 3 rooms
- Outpatient clinics — oncology/hematology, orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, urology, pediatric surgery, genetics, endocrinology, adolescent gynecology, plastic surgery, dermatology, allergy, child protection team, metabolic services, family planning, breastfeeding, nutrition, pain management, and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes
- Sports medicine program, including physician consults and therapy gym
- Infusion center — 10 rooms for same-day infusions
- Operating room — 3 rooms, with private recovery
- Laboratory services — lab draws and specimen processing to support patients from urgent care, inpatient, infusion, clinics and operating room (the lab will be open on Saturdays)
