With spring and summer sports in full swing, busy moms are looking for healthy alternatives to keeping their kids hydrated. Here's a way to replace store-bought sports drinks with a homemade version.
HEALTHY SPORTS DRINK
HEALTHY SPORTS DRINK
- 2 cups crushed ice
- 2 cups coconut water
- 1/2 cup all-natural 100% juice (I used black cherry)
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
- Sweetener to taste (honey, stevia, or agave all work great)
This drink can be served "as is" or mixed with a 1/4 cup water, depending on your child's preference. Try experimenting with other flavors of fruit juices for a sure to please, made to replenish beverage!
