My kids love creating handmade cards for special occasions, especially for Nana, Papa, Grammy, Bah, and all their Aunties and Uncles. The new Creatacard™ iPad App from American Greetings gives homemade cards a 21st-Century update that is fun and easy for kids to use, and creates a card that is sure to be a treasured keepsake!

American Greetings invited me and my kids to try out their one-of-a-kind free app and share this fun new creativity tool with some of our friends. And I gotta tell you, both the kiddos (ages 3-10) and their parents were loving it!

Kids can create as many cards as they want, add their own personal touches (including pictures and special nicknames), then sign their masterpiece! Once done, parents can preview the card and then choose to have it printed and mailed anywhere in the world for just $3.49 per card. The cards are printed on the same high-quality cardstock on pre-printed greetings in the card aisles, but without having to make a trip to the store or digging around in your desk for a stamp ... or covering your kitchen table with glitter glue and crayon shavings!

Creatacard is really easy to use and very intuitive. The age recommendation is for kids 6-8 years old, but our 3-year-olds didn't have any trouble using it and the 10-year-olds still thought it was super fun too. Kids can customize select American Greetings card (the TMNT card was a hit!) or start from scratch to make their own. The app has a huge selection of tools like crayons, paint, stickers, and stamps in virtually every color. Use your favorite colors and designs. You can insert pictures of the family from the photos already on your iPad, or take one on the spot. One little girl in our group calls her grandmother "Ta-Da" (best grandparent name ever, right?) and you know she'll never find a Grandparents' Day card in the store with that title, but she can add it here. How's that for a personal touch?

"This groundbreaking app gives kids the tools they need to start a life-long friendship with their own imaginations," said Eliza Wing, director of digital brands at American Greetings. "As American Greetings prides itself on product innovation, we are thrilled to introduce Creatacard because it gives kids the unique opportunity to truly become greeting card artists. We have taken the offline behavior of making cards that children have enjoyed for generations and created an app that brings this experience to an amazing new level with the option to professionally print the cards."

Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 7! Get the free Creatacard app for iPad now in the iTunes App Store and order your cards by Thursday, August 28 to guarantee delivery to celebrate this special occasion. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are all right around the corner. Creatacard has got you covered for the entire holiday season!
