DIY Homework Survival Kit

By Julie Dikken, Evergreen-Bailey-Conifer Macaroni Kid Publisher September 3, 2014
Keep your kids motivated and on task when it comes to getting homework completed with a Homework Survival Kit. This simple-to-create kit keeps everything a student will need to complete their homework readily accessble, eliminating the need to search for supplies in the middle of an assignment.

What You Need:
  • A sturdy plastic box with lid
  • Permanent Markers in various colors
  • Supplies to fill box. Some ideas include: Looseleaf paper, Graph Paper, Pens, Pencils & Sharpener, Crayons, Markers or Color Pencils, Scissors, Glue Sticks and/or Tape, Ruler, Calculator, 3x5 Cards, Flash Cards, Kitchen Timer
What You Do:
  1. Have your child decorate their Homework Survival Kit using permanent markers.
  2. Fill box with grade appropriate supplies.
That's it! I like to have a box for each child so they can quietly work on their projects without having to wait for turns. For fun I will leave notes in their box to find as they are working or even add a Smarties® candy, or Hershey's Hugs® and Kisses®.
