The Birth of a Nation • R (Biography/Drama) Nat Turner is a literate slave and preacher in the antebellum South. His owner, Samuel Turner, accepts an offer to use Nat's preaching to subdue unruly slaves. After witnessing atrocities against himself and his fellow slaves, Nat orchestrates an uprising in the hope of leading his people to freedom. It won the Grand Jury Prize AND the Audience Award at Sundance ... don't be surprised if it takes an Oscar® or two as well.
The Girl on the Train • R (Thriller) Based on the best-selling novel, starring the ever-lovely Emily Blunt, directed by Tate Taylor (The Help), and produced by Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies), this movie is sure to please mystery lovers worldwide.
Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life • PG (Comedy) Rafe is a young artist at a new middle school. After the strict principal punishes him by destroying a book of his drawings, Rafe fights back with a string of pranks and rule-breaking. Based on the hilarious book by James Patterson, it's the movie my kids remind me about on an almost daily basis.

The Accountant • R (Thriller) As a boy, Chris was extremely intelligent and loved solving puzzles but didn't live normal life quite so easily. As a man (played by Ben Affleck), he works as an accountant for some very unsavory characters. Also starring Anna Kendrick (who I adore and have never seen in a role like this), Jeffrey Tambor, J.K. Simmons, Jon Berthal, and John Lithgow.
Kevin Hart: What Now? • R (Comedy) Kevin Hart filled an entire football stadium for his stand-up show. If you're a fan, you already know why. You're sure to laugh till your sides and cheeks hurt!

On the run as a fugitive from the law, Reacher uncovers a potential secret from his past that could change his life forever. The Jack Reacher series feels like the love-child of Mission Impossible and Jason Bourne ... still it's sure to be a fun ride!
Keeping Up With the Joneses • PG-13 (Action/Comedy) Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm, Gal Gadot, and Isla Fisher star in this movie about an ordinary suburban couple who find it's not easy keeping up with their gorgeous new neighbors — especially when they discover that Mr. and Mrs. "Jones" are actually government spies.

Moana • PG (Animated Adventure/Comedy) Moana a spirited teenager who, with the help and guidance of demi-god Maui (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), sails out on a daring mission to save her people and prove herself a master wayfinder. No one has mastered CG animation better than Disney ... expect it to be beautiful to watch!
Rules Don't Apply • TBD (Romantic Comedy) It's Hollywood, 1958. Aspiring young actress and devout Baptist virgin Marla Mabrey (LilyCollins) is under contract to the infamous Howard Hughes (Academy Award® winner Warren Beatty). The talented cast includes Jennifer Aniston, T.J. Miller, Jason Bateman, Kate McKinnon, Olivia Munn, Jillian Bell, Vanessa Bayer, and many others ... it might end up being the funniest movie of the holiday season.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story • TBD (PG-13 likely) (Action/Adventure) My son calls this one "Star Wars 3 1/2" because chronologically it is between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but it is the first stand-alone Star Wars movie. The story is about a group of Rebel fighters who are trying to steal the plans for the Death Star. Although I still haven't forgiven J.J. Abrams for what happened to Han Solo, we are die-hard Star Wars fans so count us in!

Passengers • TBD (Sci-Fi Adventure) Two of my favorites: Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence! Jim and Aurora are two passengers onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on another planet. The trip takes a deadly turn when their hibernation pods mysteriously wake them 90 years before they reach their destination. As they try to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction, they begin to fall for each other ... only to be threatened by the imminent collapse of the ship and the discovery of the truth behind why they woke up.
Sing • PG (Animated Comedy) Buster Moon's once-grand theater has fallen on hard times. As a final effort to restore his life's dream, he decided to host the world's greatest singing competition. Fences • TBD (Drama) Directed by Denzel Washington from a screenplay by August Wilson, which was adapted from his Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play. The film stars Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sydney.
Why Him? • R (Comedy) This is another one for grown-ups only! James Franco plays the guy no dad wants his daughter to fall in love with and marry. Bryan Cranston plays the dad. The Red Band trailer proves this movie is super not appropriate for kids ... and it looks like a riot!
