Valentines are a long-time tradition, but if you're looking for a way to sweeten them up a bit, try these Valentine Pops!

They are wonderful to give to classmates or make a small bouquet to tell a teacher, friend, or coach how special you think they are.

Kids can help with nearly all the steps (a teen or adult should handle heating the chocolate).

What You Need:

  • Lollipop sticks
  • Almond bark or melting chocolate in your desired flavor or color
  • Sprinkles or jimmies
  • Large marshmallows in your preferred flavor or color OR you can also use valentine Peeps
  • Cardboard box (a recycled cereal box works great) with small poked holes or Styrofoam to keep the pops upright while the chocolate sets
  • Plastic wrap
  • Decorative ribbon

What You Do:

  1. Insert sticks into marshmallows.
  2. Melt the bark or chocolate according to package directions.
  3. Dip marshmallow into melted chocolate, rotating it, and gently scraping off any excess chocolate as you remove it from the bowl.
  4. Place stick upright in pre-poked holes in cardboard box or Styrofoam.
  5. Add sprinkles while chocolate is still wet.
  6. Repeat until you have the quantity you want.
  7. Once the chocolate sets and hardens, place in a treat bag or cover with a small amount of plastic wrap, fastening with ribbon. You can also use a hole punch to make a hole in your Valentine and slide it onto the lollipop stick before securing it with ribbon.
