South Platte Park is a natural oasis within the city of Littleton featuring 880 acres of open space along the South Platte River. At the Carson Nature Center, re-create the area’s famous 1965 flood at the interactive River Table or observe live animals in the Center’s exhibits. Our riparian (streamside) ecosystem provides abundant opportunities to interact with nature, including a wide variety of nature and outdoor recreation camps for children and youth ages 4-18. Most camp leaders attended our camps as children and have completed the nationally recognized Certified Interpretive Guide certification, as well as being CPR and water safety trained. Horseback Riding, Sailing, and Watersports camps are offered at partner locations and can be found on our website.
