Craft Corner: Marble Art for Earth Day

🌎 Cool Craft for Earth Day (or Any Day!)

By Maggie Mackay April 18, 2012

Make your own "Earth" in celebration of Earth Day!

What You Need:

  • Plain white paper
  • Pencil
  • Round cake pans
  • Scissors
  • Green and blue paint
  • Spoons
  • Bowls
  • Marbles
  • White puffy paint

What You Do:

  1. Use the pencil and trace the cake pan onto a plain piece of paper. Cut the circle out.
  2. Place the circle shaped paper on the bottom of the cake pan (you may need to trim it just a little so it fits, as the paper should lay flat).
  3. Put the paint in two separate bowls, one for green and one for blue. Place the marbles in the paint and use the spoon to roll them around until they are completely covered in paint.
  4. Place the paint covered marbles in the cake pans (some blue, some green).
  5. Allow your kids to move the cake pan back and forth. Watch the marbles roll from side to side, creating a masterpiece!! You can always take the marbles out and recover them in paint if your project needs more color.
  6. Take the circle out of the cake pan, allow it time to dry and then use the white puffy paint to write “Earth Day 2012” or your child’s name or a quote about the Earth on your marble-painted Earth!
