🇲🇽 Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2021

By Kyrie Collins, Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock-Lone Tree Publisher May 2, 2022

I've literally been celebrating Cinco de Mayo my entire life... it's my birthday!

Many Americans believe that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day. In fact, this holiday is celebrated more widely in the United States (across the nation) than in Mexico (primarily in the state of Puebla). The day actually commemorates the Mexican Army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Whether you're a history buff or not, parties are always fun! Start your day by making a festive Mexican bracelet, then head out on the town to one of the celebrations listed below. Finally, snack on some Sombrero Cookies before you hit the hay, er, vaya al sueño!
