🦃 Yummy Treat for Thanksgiving

There are lots of ways to make edible turkey snacks but most of them involve cookies or candy. This part-craft, part-snack turkey is as easy as any other, but I don't mind if my kids gobble it up before the Main Event! Here's the recipe for two turkeys.

Healthy Turkey Fruit Snack

  • 1 Bosc pear, cut in half
  • 1 Gala apple, cored and cut into 16 wedges
  • 2 Clementine oranges, peeled and separated
  • 4 dried apricots for the feet
  • 4 mini chocolate chips for the eyes
  • 2 Craisins for the wattle
  • 2 pieces of nuts (we used Macadamia because that's what we had) for the beak
  • Peanut butter, cream cheese, or Nutella for assembling

Cut the pear in half. Lay cut side down.

Add apple and orange slices around the pear for tail feathers, tucking the ones at the top under the pear.

Cut the dried apricots to resemble feet (I'm no artist, as you can tell from our picture!) and place at the bottom.

Use peanut butter, cream cheese, or Nutella to apply the eyes, wattle, and beak. Enjoy!
