Craft Corner: Orange & Blue Pom-Poms and Noisemakers

🏈 A Cool Craft for Your Next Game Day

January 29, 2014

If you are rooting for the Broncos in the Super Bowl this Sunday, you'll need something besides your jersey to show your spirit! We've got instructions for two easy crafts you can make so your whole family can cheer on our Orange and Blue!

HOMEMADE POM-POM

What You Need:

  • Empty paper towel tube
  • Curling ribbon
  • Construction paper
  • Duct tape (Broncos-themed is widely available)
  • Scissors

What You Do:

  1. Cut two notches across from each other on the top and bottom edges of the paper towel tube.
  2. Wrap the curling ribbon around the length of the paper towel tube, using the notches in the tube to hold the ribbon in place). Wrap as many times as desired. The more times you wrap the ribbon, the fuller the pom-poms will be.
  3. When you are happy with the amount of curling ribbon on the tube, cut the ribbon that is between the two top notches.
  4. Carefully pull the ribbon off the tube while keeping the bottom ribbon held together.
  5. Wrap the construction paper around the bottom half of the curling ribbon.
  6. Wrap duck tape around the construction paper.
  7. Decorate as desired.

  • Zipper baggies (one for each color)
  • Food coloring
  • Hand sanitizing gel
  • Wax paper
  • Plastic bottle (such as a water or soda bottle)

What You Do:

  1. Place about five drops of the hand sanitizer into the bottom of a plastic baggie.
