🐰 Yummy Dessert for Easter or to Celebrate Spring

Every Easter seems to bring an abundance of Marshmallow PEEPS®!

If your baskets are overflowing with sweet and gooey chicks and bunnies, here are three delicious and adorable cake decorating to help you use them up and share the fun! Simply start with your favorite cake mix (plus the ingredients called for on the box), a tub of frosting, and — of course — your PEEPS!

Sunflower Cake

  • Chocolate cake mix and needed ingredients
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate chips
  • Yellow Chick PEEPS

Bake cake in round pans according to package directions; frost. Add PEEPS around the edges of the cake facing toward the center to create the petals. Create circles out of chocolate chips to form the seeds.

Editor's Note: I placed the top layer of cake round side up because I thought it would look more like a flower. However, the PEEPS kept sliding down the edges and I had to hold them in place till the frosting set a little. Next time, I will put the top layer flat side up.

Birds in a Basket Cake

  • Cake mix and needed ingredients (we recommend spice, carrot, or yellow)
  • Frosting (cream cheese or vanilla)
  • Any color Chick Peeps
  • Candy eggs
  • Shredded coconut (about one cup)
  • Green food coloring

Bake cake in round pans according to package directions. Cut a shallow circle out of the top layer. Frost the cake, avoiding the center of the top layer.

Use a fork in alternating directions on the sides of the cake to create a woven look. Mix together coconut and a few drops of green food coloring to make the grass. Fill in the top layer of your cake, add Chick Peeps and candy eggs.

Spring Colors Cake

  • Yellow cake mix and needed ingredients
  • Vanilla or white frosting
  • Many colors of Bunny PEEPS
  • Candy eggs or jelly beans

Bake cake in round pans according to package directions; frost. Place alternating colored PEEPS around the sides of the cake. Decorate the top with candy.
