Looking for a simple after-school treat or game-day snack? These homemade pizza roll-ups are almost as simple as the pre-made frozen variety but taste way better! I like them served hot, but my kiddos will gobble them up hot or cold.

Homemade Pizza Roll-Ups

  • Refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Garlic powder and Italian seasoning
  • Pepperoni
  • String cheese
  • Pizza sauce (see below for our no-cook recipe)

Separate the refrigerated crescent roll dough along the perforated lines. Use the palm of your hand to flatten each piece of dough. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Cut each string cheese in half. Place pepperoni and string cheese on the dough. Roll up and fold over the ends. Pinch the dough to seal as much as possible. Bake at 375℉ for 15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve hot with warm pizza sauce.

To make our no-cook homemade pizza sauce...

Stir together a 6-ounce can of tomato paste, a cup of warm water, and ⅓ cup extra-virgin olive oil. Stir in 2 cloves garlic (minced) and 1 teaspoon each of dried oregano, dried basil, and dried rosemary. Stir in a pinch of salt between each step to help cut in the flavors.

Let stand for 2-3 hours, and then heat in the microwave before serving with homemade pizza roll-ups. Any leftover sauce can be used for homemade pizza another day (it freezes well, too).
