Craft Corner: GIANT Bubbles Solution and Wand

By Megan Belegu July 22, 2015

Want to learn the secret to making GIANT bubbles? We've got the scoop for you! These instructions are super simple and the results are SUPER FUN!

Giant Bubble Solution

  • 12 cups of warm water
  • ½ cup corn syrup (we used Karo®)
  • 1 cup liquid dish soap (we used Dawn®)

Mix the water with the corn syrup, then slowly add the dish soap, stirring gently so you don't create too many bubbles. Let the bubble solution sit for at least an hour (the longer the better). The solution can be stored in an empty gallon-sized milk or water jug.

Giant Bubble Wand

  • 2 wooden dowels, approx. 36 inches long
  • 2 lengths of rope, 100 inches and 65 inches

Tie one end of the 65-inch rope to the end of one dowel, then repeat on the other dowel. Then tie one end of the 100-inch rope a few inches below the top rope and repeat on the other dowel. This will form a large opening for the bubble to form.

To create giant bubbles, dunk the ropes into Giant Bubble Solution and slowly raise them up, separating the two sticks as far as they will go. If you have enough of a breeze, you may not even need to move. Otherwise, start walking slowing and watch the GIANT bubble form!
