Recipe Box: Spooky Spider Web Eggs

🎃 Yummy Treat for Halloween

By Julie Follansbee October 27, 2015

Halloween is a fun time to be creative with your food!

Eggs are a great snack — something quick and nutritious to grab 'n' go when you are crunched for time. This spooky spiderweb version is a fun addition to your Halloween night dinner or school party treat.

  1. Hard boil your eggs. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a clean dish towel (this keeps them from rolling around).

  2. Gently crack each egg in several places with the bowl of the spoon. The more cracks you make, the more spider webs you will get. Do NOT peel!

  3. Add some food coloring (we used Wilton black) to the pan with hot water. Transfer eggs back to the pan and let cool completely.

  4. Carefully peel eggs to reveal spider webs!
