The Colorado Springs Sky Sox is the Triple-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers; dozens of players each year will split their time between each team. Many people consider minor league baseball to be more "pure" than major league baseball and feel that the players have "more heart."

As a parent, taking my children to a Sky Sox game is an affordable way to teach them about the sport that is as American as apple pie. Security Service Field holds 8,500 fans, including fixed seats, the grass slope on the third base side, and the Skybox suite level. Because it is a smaller field, we can get closer to the action. A Fun Zone with inflatables and a pitching area is available to children 12 and under.

Every day of the week during the season offers something special: Community Mondays, $2 Tuesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, and more. There are 10 Friday Night Fireworks home games featuring spectacular post-game firework displays. Specials occur throughout the season so visit the website regularly.

The seats at Security Service Field are comfortable, but it doesn’t hurt to bring a cushion to sit on, especially for smaller children who might need a boost. The box seats (first 14 rows) are individual seats with cup holders. The reserved seats (next 14 rows) have fixed-back aluminum seating. Don’t forget to pack a jacket for the night games. Only soft plastic water bottles may be brought into the stadium. Several concession stands are located throughout the stadium.

DID YOU KNOW? Every minor league ballpark in the country is unique. The signature feature of the Sky Sox is that they have an original ballpark hot tub, which launched a whole industry of aquatic features in sports. Also, at 6,531 feet above sea level, it is the nation's highest altitude professional ballpark, major leagues included!
