Craft Corner: Recycle Your K-Cup® Coffee Pods to Make a Flower

🌎 Cute Craft for Earth Day (or Any Day!)

By Julie Follansbee April 12, 2016

If you've got a Keurig or other single-serve coffee maker, you probably end up with a lot of cups. Don't let them go to waste. Use them to create a cute flower...  a daisy, of course! This craft is best-suited for upper elementary-school kids.

What You Need:

  • Empty and clean K-Cups® (or similar)
  • Scissors
  • Green pipe cleaners
  • Yarn, twine, beads, or buttons

What You Do:

1. Cut a single cup into 11 (or so) petals. Round the edges. Repeat with a second cup.

2. Glue pipe cleaner into center and glue second daisy on top, staggering the petals.

3. For the center, you can use anything you want. We used yarn, but string, twine, beads, buttons would work as well ... use your imagination and the items you already have around your house! Coil yarn and glue into center.

4. Finished! Make a bouquet and put them in a bud vase. Add a magnet and stick it to your fridge. Use as a gift decoration! Hard to believe that this held your coffee this morning!
