Cool off this summer with $2 pre-packaged ice cream treats at the Highlands Ranch Metro District’s annual Ice Cream Social.

Guests can purchase a wristband for $2 (cash only) when they arrive which gives them access to all the ice cream they can eat. All proceeds will benefit the Douglas County Libraries Foundation.  A special thank you to event sponsor Safeway for donating the ice cream.

The event also features a variety of activities and live entertainment for all ages. South Metro Fire Rescue will have a variety of engines on display, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting their Highlands Ranch location of National Night Out at the event.

In addition, the Highlands Ranch Concert Band and Swing Shift Bands will perform, there will be a variety of vendor booths to visit, and three food trucks — Mac’N Noodles, Colorado Pig Rig, and Walking Taco Truck — will offer a variety of options for dinner.

DID YOU KNOW? This annual event first took place July 16, 1998, to dedicate the new Fire Station #18 in Highlands Ranch. The dedication ceremony at the fire station included a community ice cream social!

Civic Green Park is located at 9370 Ridgeline Blvd., near the library. Free event parking is available nearby in the RTD Park-n-Ride lot.
