Craft Corner: Following in Daddy's Footsteps

👔 Great Gift Idea for Father's Day, Grandparent's Day, or Any Special Occasion

Looking for a tug-at-the-heartstrings and easy-to-do gift for dad? Well, you found it! This is super easy and fun to do!

What You Need:

  • Paint
  • White or Light-Colored Paper (we used 12x12 scrapbooking paper)
  • Frame

What You Do:

1. Find one of dad's and one of your child's shoes with tread that covers the entire sole. That sounds like a strange thing to say but trust me, you don't have as many as you may think!

2. Lightly paint the bottom of dad's shoe (think stamp not paint), then press firmly from toe to heel onto the paper. Let it dry. Then layer the kids' shoes starting with the largest right on top and continue for each child.

Tip: Start with the largest shoe and the lightest color. Then layer with smaller shoes and darker colors as you go. It will be much easier to see each one that way.

3. Embellish as you would like. We added a few phrases: "Following in Daddy's Footsteps," "Walk with Me, Dad," "Father's Day 20__," and "Just Me and My Dad." If you are a scrapbooker, you probably have some cute things around to use to embellish. Maybe something reflecting their favorite things to do together, like fishing or golfing.

4. When completely dry, insert your paper into a frame, wrap with pretty paper, and present to Dad on his special day!
