Nominations are open online through November 9, 2020

August 1, 2022

Has a librarian made a difference in your life or gone above and beyond to help your community? Now's your chance to celebrate their impact by nominating them for the prestigious I Love My Librarian Award.

Up to ten exceptional school, public, and college/university librarians will be selected to receive $5,000 in recognition of their service to their communities. They'll be honored during a virtual award ceremony at the American Library Association's LibLearnX meeting in January 2023.

Librarians touch the lives of the people they serve every day. This award encourages library users to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional public, school, college, community college, or university librarians.

The I Love My Librarian Award is unique. Previous winners have referred to it as the "People’s Choice Award" of the library world because people who use libraries nominate librarians for the differences they are making in their schools, campuses, and communities.

Since the award was established in 2008, 140 librarians have received this distinguished honor. In that time, library users nationwide have shared more than 22,000 nominations with detailed stories about how their librarian had an impact on their communities and lives.
