Craft Corner: Make a Fish from an Old CD

By Julie Follansbee and the St. Michael's Agua Viva Mission Team May 24, 2017

Celebrate fishing, summer, and all things water when you upcycle your old CDs into fun and colorful fish!

What You Need:

  • Self-adhesive foam pieces in assorted colors
  • CDs
  • Self-adhesive or regular wiggly eyes
  • Markers
  • Glue if not using self-adhesive

What You Do:

  1. Cut out the fish’s lips, fins, and tail. Heart shapes work great for lips, bow ties for fins, and triangle and fluted shapes work for the tail and dorsal. Here you can be creative! No templates!
  2. Remove the paper backing and adhere the lips and fins to the side of the CD.
  3. Add the wiggly eyes to each side.
  4. Decorate fish with markers.
