Beep, beep! Buckle your seatbelts and hold on tight! The Castle Rock Police Department is excited to bring back a favorite community event: Touch-A-Truck!

7th Annual Touch-a-Truck
Saturday, August 19, 2023

"No Horn" Hour: 9:00 AM–10:00 AM
Main Event: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

Douglas County Fairgrounds
500 Fairgrounds Rd., Castle Rock
COME JOIN THE FUN!

These trucks are usually plowing streets, working construction sites, and saving lives, but for this event, they'll be waiting to meet you. Castle Rock Police, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue, Douglas County Regional S.W.A.T., Smash My Trash, U.S. Army, and many others will be on-site, providing demonstrations and educational opportunities for the entire family.

Not only will kids get a chance to climb inside and take pictures of the various trucks, but their operators will also be on hand to explain how everything works and what role these vehicles play in the community.

"Our goal is for families to leave the event with a better understanding of the role each of these trucks and vehicles plays in keeping residents safe," said event organizers from the Castle Rock Police Department. "At the event, we have a little of everything from first responders to construction, transportation, and landscaping companies."

Castle Rock Police Department is committed to providing a more inclusive community. The "No Horn" hour from 9:00–10:00 AM is designed for children with special needs and auditory sensitivity issues — no horns, music, or sirens!

The Touch-A-Truck event is free to attend. Several food trucks will be on-site with food and frozen treats available for purchase, and Macaroni KID Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock-Lone Tree will be there with other fun kids' activities.
