Through the support of partners, local organizations, and individuals, the Foundation for Douglas County Schools annually provides much-needed school supplies — from crayons to composition books — to Douglas County students through the Lend A Hand Program.
Lend A Hand ensures that every student starts the new school year with the supplies they need to help them be successful in school. The Foundation collects, purchases, assembles, and distributes 1,500-2,000 backpacks annually to students in need.
This program has been possible due to the generosity of our community partners and individuals, and the Foundation for Douglas County Schools is asking for your help again this year.
VOLUNTEER: Help the Foundation collect and inventory donated school supplies, put together backpacks, and distribute school supplies at one of the drive-through locations. It’s a fun and rewarding experience! Sign up online.
DONATE SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Purchase school supply items and drop them off at the Foundation Offices at 620 Wilcox Street in Castle Rock or contact Tricia Strahler to arrange a pickup.
Beginning June 3, donation boxes will also be placed at all Douglas County Libraries locations (except Louviers), Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Sky Ridge Medical Center, Outlets at Castle Rock, Texas Roadhouse in Parker, and other convenient sites around Douglas County.
Visit www.foundationdcs.org/lendahand for location information.
