Giddy up! Grab your cowboy hat and stick horse because this event is going to make y'all shout "YEEHAW!"
Celebrate the beginning of summer and Parker's rich rural history at this unique event — Western costumes are encouraged!
Four Reasons to Participate in the Cattle Crossing 5K & Family Fun Trek:
1.) Local home-town community event with a unique western theme!
2.) Competitive but also family oriented!
3.) Affordable, especially if you register early!
One of the most scenic events in the Parker Parks & Rec Run Series, this stimulating 5K course meanders through the historic Idyllwilde community under majestic tree canopies, past many feeder trails, and next to a small creek. Be sure to keep your eyes open — you could catch a glimpse of birds, deer, or cattle along the trail!
The 5K is professionally timed and the Family Fun Trek is about one mile of laid-back, outdoorsy fun, which includes a “duck hunt” for the kids. All registered participants receive a commemorative “tin” campfire mug, a chance to win great prizes and a delicious post-race pancake breakfast! Online registration closes May 29 at noon. Register early for the lowest price and check out the family/team registration competition! The free Kids’ Dash for children 8 and under will follow the run; no registration necessary.
Parker Recreation hosts four family-friendly races each year as part of the annual Run Series. Any proceeds from the events will benefit the Town of Parker Scholarship Program, which helps Parker families and/or individuals with limited financial resources participate in Town Recreation programs and facilities.
