Colorado Kids Can “Share Art. Spread Joy.” to Thank Healthcare Heroes

Raising Kindness Colorado provides kids the opportunity to make a difference during this pandemic

April 21, 2020

Raising Kindness Colorado, a Colorado non-profit, is providing children the opportunity to learn about the importance of volunteerism, leadership, and community engagement through its first virtual family volunteering opportunity: Share Art. Spread Joy.

Children across Colorado can create art of any kind to say "thank you" to healthcare workers and spread joy in the community. Raising Kindness Colorado will organize Virtual Art Show Albums to be shared with front-line healthcare workers, elderly, grocery workers, teachers, and other amazing volunteers in our community.

“Teaching our kids to do good in their community is one of the greatest gifts we can give them, especially now," says Jenny Emerson, co-founder of Raising Kindness Colorado. "We’re thrilled to launch Share Art. Spread Joy. to provide an opportunity to engage the community to spread kindness. Kindness is contagious too.”

How families can participate:

  • Children can create art of any kind including drawings, paintings, sculptures, sidewalk chalk art, and letters/thank you cards
  • Take a photo of your child’s art. Make sure your art is no larger than 25MB and is a .PNG or .JPEG
  • Email your photo to kareen@raisingkindnessco.org. Include the artist’s first name, last name initial, age, and city of residence.

Families can also print and color "Thank You" coloring pages to submit to Raising Kindness Colorado or mail to a family member, friend, or neighbor who is also a health care worker.
