Have you ever considered having your child learn a second language?

According to the article, “Why Learn Languages,” research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask.

Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility. Learn more about the many benefits of knowing another language in this video from Mia Nacamulli, presented by Ted-Ed.

Bilingual Education in Parker, Colorado

Since 2015, Global Village Academy has offered tuition-free bilingual education for students in English and their choice of French, Mandarin Chinese, or Spanish. The K-5 language immersion public charter school teaches core content in both English and the studied language.

GVA has a diverse student population and staff, with native-speaking teachers coming from all over the world. Students and families love the monthly International Day celebrations.

Global Village Academy has smaller class sizes and an active and engaged parent community. We have technology in each classroom and our school uses the AVID elementary program with our students.

Before and after care is provided by Innovation Learning.

Reasons Why Families Love Their Experience at Global Village Academy

“Our family values travel and learning about new cultures. We were so excited to hear about GVA opening their Parker location and enrolled our then Kindergarten student.

She has attended GVA for nearly five years now and is almost fluent in Spanish.

What we love most about GVA and the reason why we have both our 1st and 4th graders still enrolled is the celebration of a global community — living in the suburbs of Denver, culture and diversity are not the norm.

My children learn that the United States and the English language are only a part of this big world of incredible humans. Thank you, GVA!”

“I grew up in a Chinese family (not in China), but do not speak the language. GVA Douglas County lets my children learn Mandarin Chinese and the culture better than I can do.

I love that native Chinese speakers teach Mandarin. Children learn in English fifty percent of their day and fifty percent in Mandarin. It never gets old to see Mikaela talk to other Chinese people in Mandarin.

As the world gets smaller, a second or third language will come in handy. I love that GVA helps me give a gift of language to my children.”
