FEBRUARY HOLIDAYS AND WAYS TO CELEBRATE
FEBRUARY 2: CREPE DAY
- Go out: Visit La Petite Crêperie in Parker for the best crepes in Douglas County.
- Stay in: Make your own with our simple recipe.
FEBRUARY 6: ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY
It's a Saturday, so why not surprise your kids with an ice cream buffet when they wake up? Set up an assortment of ice cream toppings — like M&Ms, oreo crumbs, strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, pound cake cubes, and mini marshmallows — and let everyone create their own sundae this morning.
If that feels like too much sugar to start off your day, make a Breakfast Banana Split with vanilla yogurt topped with chopped strawberries, whole blueberries, and pineapple tidbits.
FEBRUARY 7: BALLET DAY
Today's a great day to learn the five ballet positions!
If you've got a little one who loves to dance and also loves princesses, check out the Princess Dance classes at the Castle Rock Recreation Center and learn ballet steps with Sleeping Beauty, Tinker Bell, or Alice and the White Rabbit!
FEBRUARY 9: NATIONAL PIZZA DAY
The history of pizza goes all the way back to ancient Romans who made a flatbread called panis focacius (focaccia!) and served it with toppings.
Since it's a Tuesday, you can take advantage of $10 Tuesdays at participating Papa Murphy's locations and bring home your favorite large Take 'N' Bake pizza for just $10 ($13 for family-sized).
If you prefer homemade, here are some of our favorite recipes:
- Homemade Pizza Rollups
- Homemade Pizza Pockets
- Egg "Pizza" for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
- Grilled Pizza for a new twist on an old favorite
- Fruit Pizza with a Sugar Cookie Crust for dessert
