February 24, 2021

Planning a birthday party in these constantly changing times can be challenging, especially when it comes to finding a venue. Douglas County Libraries (DCL) is here for you!

Birthday parties at DCL are not only fun and convenient, with six locations to choose from, they’re also easy on parents. Our professional event coordinators manage all the details, keeping in mind our current times and safety protocols.

Birthday parties at DCL are ideal for kids ages 2-7 and are offered in three fun themes: Folklore and Fantasy, Once Upon a Time, and Things That Roar.

The epic adventures, roaring good times, and magical stories experienced every day through the library’s Virtual Storytimes and extensive collection of kids’ books and DVDs can be a memorable part of your child’s birthday, too. Delightful stories, crafts, and activities are built into every party! And dress-up is encouraged!

Simply choose your theme and library location — Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, or Roxborough — and our event coordinators will take care of the rest. Easy peasy!

All themed birthday party packages include:

  • Stress-free planning, on-site coordination, and party management
  • An invitation that you may email to guests and thank-you notes for use after the party
  • Party décor
  • Party setup and cleanup
  • Age-appropriate activities
  • Goody bags for guests, including age-appropriate toys and snacks
  • Birthday lollipop bouquet
  • Gift book for the birthday girl or boy

If you’d rather celebrate at home, DCL offers customized kits for at-home celebrations. The curbside pickup kits include snacks, crafts, and activities for the birthday child and up to nine party guests, plus loads of fun extras. Options like a decorate-it-yourself dessert and water slide rental (May through September) are available for an additional fee.

Lisa Peterson booked a Birthday Celebrations kit for her daughter. “My daughter loved the water slide, craft, and goody bags. We appreciated [Veronica’s] planning and materials coordination. What a relief during social distancing times.”

“The [DCL Delivers] option made the day seamless and convenient,” says Jennifer Kidd. “All communication prior to the event was clear and concise. Themes and color choices made the event feel more personalized to my child. Detailed instructions and optional games to play accompanied all supplies and materials for activities. We didn’t even have time to do it all. Everyone had so much fun!”

Birthday parties at DCL are offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30-4:30 PM and cost $195 for up to 12 children (including the birthday girl/boy). Customized, consumable to-go party kits for at-home celebrations can be picked up from a library location on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

Take the stress and work out of planning your child’s birthday party by letting Douglas County Libraries manage the details for you!
