  • DCSD has one of the highest graduation rates in the Denver metro area at 90.7% in 2021.
  • The class of 2021 earned more than $116 million in scholarships.
  • Students and families saved more than $3 million in college expenses through DCSD concurrent enrollment partnerships.

Taking Care of the Whole Child

DCSD provides a place for each student to find personal growth and fulfillment in a safe and supportive environment that develops not just academic skills but also the skills to ensure social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Exceptional education leaders work closely with school counselors, psychologists, and social workers to ensure each child receives the social-emotional learning supports necessary to learn safely while staying healthy.

Thanks to the $40 million Mill Levy Override funding made possible by Douglas County voters in 2018, every DCSD elementary school now has a dedicated counselor. And additional counselors were placed at the middle and high school levels.

Through an ongoing partnership with local law enforcement, DCSD added dedicated School Resource Officers (SROs) in 2019 to our middle schools, in addition to the SROs already in our high schools. Local law enforcement also provides School Marshalls to our elementary schools.
