10 Holidays and Events to Celebrate in May With Your Kids

Maybe we love May. Actually, there's no maybe about it. The grass is green, spring is in bloom, and the kids can taste the end of the school year!

We have ten occasions, events, and holidays happening this month that you can celebrate with your family!


National Bike Month
May 1-31

Did you know that 40 percent of all trips in the U.S. are less than two miles? That means we should all get on our bicycles more! Commit with your kids to ride your bikes as much as possible throughout May.

Get your outgrown or damaged bikes into the hands of children in need with Project ReCycle, a Colorado nonprofit that repairs, reuses, and recycles donated bicycles and bike parts.


Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 
May 1-31

Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures are so rich in culture and diversity because they are represented in more than 30 countries — including the entire Asian continent and the Pacific Islands — and encompass more than 100 languages.

Mental Health Awareness Month
May 1-31

Mental illness affects more than 50 million people in the U.S., and 17% of youth aged 6–17 experience a mental health condition.

Eid al-Fitr
