Step Into the Spotlight This Fall with PAA Colorado

Performing Arts Academy Colorado (PAA) invites students in grades K-12 to participate in a staged theater production this fall! 

Dramatic play and theatre performance not only prepare your child to step into the spotlight, but they can also help your child's development of life skills which will set them on a path for a successful life in whichever career they choose.

Your child will gain essential life skills over the course of a semester, from flexibility and problem-solving to teamwork and self-confidence.


Kindergarten through 6th Grade
101 DALMATIANS

HONK JR.


101 Dalmatians Kids (K-2nd Grade):
Take a fur-raising adventure with Cruella De Vil, Disney's most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation of the classic animated film is certain to charm and delight all audiences.

  • Auditions: Wednesday, August 24
  • Rehearsals: Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 PM
  • Performance: Wednesday, December 14

Honk Jr. (3rd-6th Grade):
This heartwarming and hilarious celebration of being different will delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm, and memorable score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins). 

  • Auditions: Saturday, August 20
  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 PM
  • Performances: Thursday, November 17 and Friday, November 18

Rhyming Macbeth (6th-12th Grade):
Join us this fall for the one-act, modern-language version of Shakespeare's greatest tragedy. Filled with witches and ghosts, this play is perfect for Halloween!

  • Auditions: Tuesday, August 23
  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 PM
  • Performances: Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29

Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. (7th-9th Grade):
Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin' friends as they escape from New York's Central Park Zoo to the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar. Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore, and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will leave audiences with no choice but to "Move It, Move It!"

  • Auditions: Monday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 24
  • Rehearsals: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 PM
  • Performances: Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11

DID YOU KNOW? Students in 6th-9th grade who have participated in one or more shows/classes at PAA have the opportunity to join PAA for a weekend full of celebrating theater at the Music Theater International’s Junior Theater Festival in Sacramento, California, next February!


Chicago High School Edition (10th-12th Grade):
In roaring '20s Chicago, Roxie Hart murders her lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another murderess Velma Kelly vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal.

  • Auditions: Saturday, September 10
  • Rehearsals: Sundays from 4:00-7:00 PM
  • Performances: December 9-11 and December 16-17
