Making fake snow is excellent for sensory play. The cool and soft texture of the snow can be calming and soothing for children, especially if they’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity for them to use their imaginations and explore their creativity!

Rather be outside? You can use your homemade snow to create a winter wonderland in the backyard, create unique sculptures, or even use it for a snowball fight. The possibilities are endless!




No matter what you do with your homemade snow, it will bring plenty of smiles. 

Plus, all you need are two inexpensive ingredients, and you’ll be ready to go! This recipe for fake snow is so simple the kids can take the lead in making it.

What You Need:

  • 2½ cups of pure baking soda
  • ½ cup white hair conditioner

What You Do:

  1. Mix the pure baking soda and white hair conditioner together in a large bowl until the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Have a snow-tastic time!
