Searching for the perfect cupcake for a fun day in the sun? Look no further than these charming "Teddy Bears at the Beach" cupcakes!
While this idea has been circulating the internet for quite some time, we recently decided to put our own spin on it, and we couldn't be happier with the results. These cupcakes are not only adorable but also remarkably simple to create, and they taste just as wonderful as they look.
So, get ready to bake by donning your apron and gathering your supplies - it's time to whip up some of these irresistibly cute teddy bear cupcakes.
Teddy Bears at the Beach Cupcakes
- Cupcakes - We recommend lemon for the ultimate summer flavor
- White/Cream Frosting - Any kind that compliments your cupcakes
- Blue Food Coloring
- Teddy Grahams
- Graham Crackers (or you can use extra teddy grahams)
- Candy: Sour Rolled Belts or fruit leather (for beach towels) or Peach Rings (for floatation devices)
- Edible Ink Pen (for sunglasses)
- Cocktail Umbrellas
Bake your cupcakes according to your favorite recipe.
While the cupcakes are cooling, add blue food coloring (drop by drop) to your frosting until you've reached your preferred tint of ocean blue.
Crush a single graham cracker (or extra Teddy Grahams) until you have the consistency of sand. We put ours in a plastic bag and used our fists to crunch down on the crackers. Teddy Grahams are a bit firmer, so you may need to use a rolling pin or rubber mallet to help break them up.
Add sunglasses to any suntanning bears with an edible ink pen.
Assemble your beach scenes:
- Cover the whole cupcake with blue frosting.
- Add the graham cracker sand to a portion of the cupcake top. We added ours to a little more than half the surface.
- Organize your candy beach towels and set up your peach ring inner tubes.
- Set the stage for your vacationing bears by adding them to the water or candy towels. You may want to add a tiny bit of frosting to the bear to get it to stick to the candy.
- Pop open an umbrella to shade your sunbathing bears.
Macaroni KID Tip: We recommend adding the umbrellas on-site if you bring these cupcakes to a special event. We learned that our carrying cases weren't tall enough to include the umbrellas fully assembled, making it difficult to transport them that way.
