Teen Library Connections (TLC)
Is your teen in middle or high school? Do they want to make a difference in their library and their community? If so, they are invited to apply to be members of Teen Library Connections (TLC). They will earn volunteer credit, make a difference, and have fun!
Stop by a meeting or talk to a youth librarian to sign up.
Does your teen love to read and love helping others? Do they enjoy working with kids? The Big Buddies might be the program for them!
The Reading Buddies program will train your teen to volunteer with struggling readers, Little Buddies, in grades 1-3 to help them become stronger readers.
Know Before You Go
- Buddies meet weekly for two months.
- For each session, spend 30 minutes preparing, followed by one hour of reading and literacy games with your Little Buddy.
- Volunteer spots are limited and your participation in the program is not guaranteed until your application has been received and approved.
