At Communication 101: Kids Style, our mission is to equip children with the tools to communicate effectively, build meaningful relationships, and develop confidence in who
they are. Through fun, engaging activities like sports, arts, music, and teamwork, we teach kids how to express themselves, resolve conflict, and care about others. We are passionate about helping kids grow into respectful, confident individuals who know how to connect, listen, and lead.

About Communication 101: Kids Style
Founder of Communication 101: Kids Style Shelly Thorne has spent over 10 years working with kids as a volleyball coach, youth group leader, and mentor. She has also been a dance instructor, lifeguard, and swim instructor, giving her a wide range of experience working with children of all ages.
For five years, Shelly trained in communication and personal development through Frontier Trainings in San Diego under Clinton Swain. These trainings focused on communication, conflict resolution, personal growth, and building stronger relationships.
Through her experiences, Shelly saw a consistent need—kids often struggle with communication, empathy, and thinking about others. This inspired her to create Communication 101: Kids Style, a camp designed to help kids learn these essential skills early in life in a fun, engaging way.
