Riding and working with the horse is the focus of our hands-on camp! No arts and crafts — just horses!
Chatfield Stables has the longest-running horse camp in the area. Every child has his or her own horse for the entire week. Kids get to lead, feed, water, and work with their horses every day!
Campers learn safety, horse care, grooming, bridling, and saddling their own horse for the week. Riding lessons and many hours of trail riding are included. Camp is open for children 7 and older. Kids should bring a healthy lunch and drink in a cooler. Riding boots (cowboy boots), jeans, hat, and sunscreen are required. Helmets are provided, or you can bring your own.
Our camps are ideal for first-time participating or previous campers who would like to do it again. Horse Camps can be combined with Pony Pals for a discounted rate. Upper-level camps are available; call for more information.

"Our daughter and two of her friends spent a week in the summer camp. The staff and owner's priority in regards to kids and guests is safety. The girls thoroughly enjoyed taking care of a horse for a week and spending time riding on the trails. Each young wrangler received a nice certificate that included a photo of them on their horse. The parents spent some time chatting with Bob on the last day and we enjoyed his stories and it's helpful when one takes the time to get to know others. He's sincere and dedicated to the horses, the stables, and the kids. The kids will definitely go back to Chatfield Stables!" –Willie
"My 12 year old son and I went on the hour trail ride yesterday! We enjoyed our time so much. Horses are very well taken care of and our Wrangler Amber was just the best! Thank you for a wonderful memory and hope to get back soon!" –Roxanne
"We had such a great ride! All of the wranglers were friendly and helpful. The park is gorgeous. Would definitely go again!" –Christa
