Dad Clark Park is beautiful and lush with trees everywhere. There is a creek nearby, making it easier for plants to grow in the area.

There is a paved trail that goes from the playground out to The Potato Patch organic community garden. The door to the garden is locked so that the garden isn't disturbed. There are beautiful veggies, fruits, and flowers within.

Dad Clark Park was named after Rufus Clark, one of Highlands Ranch's original homesteaders. He was nicknamed “Potato King” after a large haul of potatoes in 1859, which is where the community garden got its name.

If you continue on the path, it will lead you to the dog off-leash area about 1200 feet from the parking lot.

The playground was redesigned and renovated at the end of 2019 with input from the community and reopened at the beginning of 2020. The playground upgrades incorporated more shade, slides, climbing equipment, and color.

There is a large sand area with a table to play on and a water spout (seasonal), a rope merry-go-round, swings, two smaller play areas for younger children, and a larger play structure for all ages. This playset incorporates numerous ways to climb, travel, and slide down.
