Children grow best outside!

One of the gems of Douglas County is the Backcountry Wilderness Area, with 8,200 acres of conservation space and experiential, hands-on outdoor activities and environmental education for all ages.

Introduce your young horse enthusiast (ages 3-6) to equestrian life at the Horse Corrals. Grow their skills from Pony Rides and small group lessons (Mini Manes and Pony Tails) to Little Equestrians private lessons. Learn more about Pony Programs.

Youth Nature Programs

Fun nature programs for ages 7-13 are a great way for your child to experience the Backcountry after dark, roast marshmallows around the campfire, and learn about a new subject while parents enjoy a night out.
