Would your child enjoy learning real horsemanship skills, like grooming and feeding their partner horse? Does the thought of riding every day out on the trail or in the arena appeal to your summer camper? Do you love the idea of your kiddo bonding with one horse for a whole week?
Horse camps at Sagebrush Stables are ideal for first-time participants or previous campers who would like to do it again.
Every camper is assigned their "own" horse for the week. During this week, they learn what it is like to care for an animal: feeding, watering, brushing, saddling, bridling, and (of course) riding. We ride daily, whether in the arena or out on the trail!
Once we are winding down our camp day, they also help us do their end-of-day grooming.
Kids should bring a cooler with a healthy lunch, snacks, and drinks, which they can enjoy in our shady area.
Camp Details
- Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM–3:30 PM
- May 20 through August 26
- Ages 7+
- $600 per camper per week
Required Items
- Cowboy boots (no lace-up boots or hiking boots, etc.)
- Regular jeans without glitter or jewels
- A broad-brimmed hat with a tie string to protect their neck and face (gardening, fishing hat, cowboy hat, etc.)
- Pre-applied sunscreen and bug spray are required and should also be packed for later in the day.
- Bring your own approved riding helmet, or use one of ours free of charge
Note to Parents: Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early on the first day and then 15 minutes prior to start times on the remaining days. Your cooperation is needed and appreciated.
