Description
Families can spend time together and gain knowledge of nature in this outdoor wonderland. Kids can earn a Certificate of Completion in one visit or continue on for their Junior Ranger Badge (ages 3-6) or official Junior Naturalist Patch (ages 7-12) which will require multiple visits. One Naturalist led hike required for badge and two Naturalist led hikes are required for patch. Parents must accompany the children for the entire program.
How do animals get ready for winter? What happens to the plants when the cold and snow descend on Roxborough State Park? Join Naturalist Ann Sarg for fun activities and a hike to learn how different species cope with the hardships of the winter environment.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19, Roxborough State Park has precautions in place for hikes/programs. Group size is limited to 10, including the leader. Attendees must maintain a 6-foot distance from those not living in the same household. Masks are required; if you can not or choose not to wear a mask, please wait until the restrictions are lifted to sign up for an event.
All vehicles need a pass to enter the park. Daily fee is $9. Please plan on coming early on the weekends. The Park is usually at capacity around 9:30 AM and there could be up to a 45-minute wait. Please leave your pets and bikes at home, as they are not permitted in the park.
If you can not make the event, please be considerate and cancel so that others may sign up.
