Description

Start your New Year in the great outdoors on this 6.3-mile (round trip) “1st Day Hike” to Carpenter Peak with Naturalists Paul Bleau and Dave Thomas. At 7,175 feet, it is the highest point in the park and provides a spectacular 360-degree view from downtown Denver to Pike National Forest.

Enjoy the view while eating lunch on the peak! Bring water, food, appropriate apparel, yaktrax or micro-spikes, and poles.

Due to COVID-19, Roxborough State Park has precautions in place for hikes/programs. Group size is limited to 10, including the leader. Attendees must maintain a 6-foot distance from those not living in the same household. Masks are required; if you can not or choose not to wear a mask, please wait until the restrictions are lifted to sign up for an event.

All vehicles need a pass to enter the park. Please plan on coming early as the Park may go to capacity (usually happens around 9:30 AM and there could be up to a 45-minute wait). Please leave your pets and bikes at home as they are not permitted in the park.

PLEASE NOTE: These hikes are very popular. If you sign up and can not make it please be considerate and cancel your reservation to make room for others to attend.
