Description
Look for the Colorado birds that live in the park all year, as well as summer and fall migrants. Many summer migrants may still be here along with birds that are more common in the winter. Of course, raptors are common in the air over Roxborough, so you will be watching for them too.
The Fountain Valley Trail is an easy trail with a gradual uphill incline on the return segment. Starting early helps to avoid the heat. Bring binoculars, water and snacks, sunscreen, and sun hat. Sun protective clothing is recommended; masks are encouraged for unvaccinated people.
NOTE: Roxborough State Park has an entry fee if you do not have a pass. This trip is not accessible for those with mobility challenges. Limit: 10 people
