Description
Follow in the footsteps of native and early Americans looking for deer in the moonlight. Learn why this moon seems so big and colorful. Hike up to a breathtaking overlook to experience the rising moon (6:32 PM). Parts of the trail are steep, so wear appropriate footwear and bring walking sticks as needed. The descent will be in twilight after sunset at 6:12 PM, by the light of the moon, using our human night vision. Flashlights if you choose.
Each summer, RidgeGate teams up with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District to provide free guided nature hikes led by professional naturalists throughout RidgeGate’s expansive bluffs trail system.
