Description

Native Americans found edible plants all around them. Some can be found on the Willow Creek Trail. Look for plants that could be eaten or used for a variety of purposes by people in the know.

RidgeGate teams up with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District each summer to provide free guided nature hikes throughout RidgeGate’s expansive bluffs trail system.

These hikes are led by professional naturalists and offer insight and education into the natural ecosystems within the open space at RidgeGate while offering a chance to get some fresh air and exercise.
