Description

Enjoy a bird hike at the Audubon Nature Center and help contribute to citizen science.

The Great Backyard Bird Count is a global birdwatching event that helps scientists learn more about bird populations, habits, and ranges. This year it takes place from February 17-20, and more eyes see more birds!

Join Audubon Master Birders on a 2.5-hour, three-mile stroll through the excellent bird habitat along the South Platte River and ponds behind Denver Audubon’s Kingery Nature Center in the hopes of seeing a wide variety of wintering birds, from waterfowl to sparrows, raptors, and maybe even eagles!

Come prepared with winter layers, a water bottle, snacks, and appropriate footwear for mud, ice, and snow. Trails will be natural surfaces, mostly flat, and likely muddy.
